Definitions and Interpretation

Session Details

• Session: A scheduled period of time during which the tutor provides maths instruction to the student. Typically lasts 60 minutes.
• Confidentiality: The obligation to keep student information private and not share it without consent.
• Tutors Responsibilities: Duties and expectations of the tutor, such as providing quality instruction and monitoring progress.
• Payment: The process of transferring money to the tutor in exchange for tuition services. Includes timing, method, and consequences of late payment.

Cancellation / Rescheduling

• Cancellation: The act of calling off a scheduled lesson. May involve fees or penalties depending on notice given.
• Scheduling: The arrangement and confirmation of lesson times between tutor and student.

Absences

• Sickness: Illness or health-related issues that prevent the student from attending a lesson. May allow for rescheduling if notice is provided.
• No-show: A missed session where the student fails to attend without prior notice. Typically incurs a full charge.

These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between the tutor and the student (or parent/guardian) regarding private maths tuition services.

1. 📅 Scheduling and Sessions

• Lessons are scheduled in advance and confirmed by both parties.
• Sessions typically last 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed.
• Any changes to the schedule must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance.

2. 💳 Payment Terms

• Payment is due 48 hours before each session unless a monthly arrangement is agreed.
• Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, cash, or PayPal.
• If the client does not pay the amount within 48 hours then Better Minds reserves the right to charge a late payment fee of up to £10 for each payment.

3. 🤒 Sickness and Absences

• If the student is unwell, please notify the tutor as soon as possible.
• Lessons missed due to sickness with at least 24 hours’ notice may be rescheduled at no extra cost.
• Repeated cancellations due to illness may require a review of the tutoring arrangement.

4. ❌ Cancellations and Refunds

• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full session rate.
• No-shows without prior notice will also be charged in full.

5. 📈 Tutor Responsibilities

• The tutor will provide professional, tailored maths instruction based on the student’s needs.
• Progress will be monitored and feedback provided regularly.
• The tutor is not responsible for exam outcomes or school performance.

6. 🔐 Confidentiality

• All student information will be kept confidential and used solely for educational purposes.
• No personal data will be shared with third parties without consent.

7. 📝 Miscellaneous

• Either party may choose to discontinue lessons at any time, with no obligation to continue beyond the current session.
• Any updates to these terms will be communicated in writing.
